Job Title: JAVA / Apache Camel Developer

About Business line/Function:
Position Purpose: We are looking for an experienced Integration Engineer to design, build, and uphold enterprise‑grade integration solutions using Apache Camel and Spring Boot. The post sits at the center of our middleware landscape, connecting core banking, payments, and digital channels while guaranteeing high‑availability, scalability, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Direct Responsibilities
Design & Architecture – Translate business integration expectations into technical designs, selecting appropriate Camel components and Spring Boot micro‑service patterns.
Implementation – Create, test, and deploy Camel routes (DSL, Java, XML) and Spring Boot services, using Spring Cloud (Config, Kubernetes operators) where needed.
Message Mediation – Implement routing, transformation, enrichment, validation, and error‑handling (DLQs, retries, compensating transactions) over protocols (REST, SOAP, JMS, Kafka, AMQP, SFTP, DB).
Performance & Reliability – Optimize route performance, implement circuit‑breaker, throttling, and back‑pressure; set up health‑checks, metrics (Micrometer/Prometheus) and logging (SLF4J, Logback).
Security & Governance – Apply security best practices (TLS, OAuth2/JWT, Spring Security, secret management), enforce data‑masking, and support audit‑trail criteria.
Support & Operations – Offer 2nd/3rd‑line support, troubleshoot production incidents, execute root‑cause analysis, and create run‑books.
Contributing Responsibilities
Collaboration – Work closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Data Engineers, and Infrastructure teams to ensure end‑to‑end solution integrity.
CI/CD & Automation – Create pipeline definitions (GitLab, DevOps, Jenkins) for automated develop, unit/integration testing (JUnit, Test containers), container image creation and Kubernetes deployment.
Know-how Sharing – Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to internal best‑practice libraries and documentation.
Technical & Behavioral Competencies
· 10+ years of track record in the Technology field such as hands on in both development and L3 support roles.
· Track record in delivering application and technical assistance on multiple systems and platforms.
· Track record in offering communications over business and technology stakeholders at varying levels.
· Track record in supporting multiple applications, establishing best practices processes and procedures.
· Background in planning, designing and executing effective support and process models
· Understanding of Software process Models like Agile, Waterfall etc.
· Exposure to Incident, Problem Management: Incident tracking & reporting; Problem tracking & reporting until resolution to ensure reduction of production Incidents.
· Background in or participation in Capacity Planning, Re-Engineering, Performance Fine Tuning.
· Desire exposure to Infrastructure Migrations: Hands on track record in planning and executing DB Migrations, Server Migrations, Version Upgrades from the production support perspective.
