Job Description – Senior Electrical Sourcing EngineerExperience: 8–12 YearsRole SummaryThe Senior Electrical Sourcing Engineer will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier development, cost optimization, localization, and supply assurance for electrical and electronic commodities. The role requires close collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management, and Supply Chain to support New Product Introduction (NPI), localization initiatives, and production continuity.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic SourcingDevelop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned electrical commodities.Identify and onboard new domestic and international suppliers.Drive supplier competitiveness through benchmarking and market intelligence.Develop dual-source strategies to improve supply resilience.Commodity ManagementManage sourcing for electrical and electronic components such as:PCB and PCBAPower semiconductors (IGBT, MOSFET, SiC, GaN)CapacitorsRelays and contactorsFuses and circuit breakersConnectors and terminalsWiring harnesses and cable assembliesMagnetics (transformers, inductors)Cooling fans and thermal componentsDisplays, HMIs, and control electronicsSensors and communication modulesSupplier DevelopmentIdentify, qualify, and develop suppliers.Conduct supplier capability and process audits.Evaluate manufacturing capacity and technical competence.Monitor supplier performance through KPIs.Drive supplier quality and delivery improvements.Cost ManagementLead commercial negotiations and long-term agreements.Perform should-cost analysis and cost breakdown reviews.Drive Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives.Deliver annual cost reduction and productivity targets.New Product Introduction (NPI)Support sourcing activities from concept through mass production.Participate in design reviews and supplier selection.Ensure sourcing readiness for prototypes and production.Collaborate with Engineering on Design-to-Cost and Design-for-Manufacturability initiatives.LocalizationIdentify localization opportunities.Develop Indian suppliers for imported components.Support technology transfer and localization programs.Improve local content while maintaining quality and performance.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with:EngineeringManufacturingSupplier QualityPlanningLogisticsFinanceProgram Management
