Job Description: Project Manager – Power Electronics Converter Development (3–5 Years Experience)Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Manager with 3–5 years of experience in power electronics product development to lead end-to-end execution of converter-based projects (DC-DC / AC-DC). The role involves cross-functional coordination, technical understanding, supplier engagement, and ensuring timely delivery aligned with cost, quality, and performance targets.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & ExecutionLead end-to-end project management for power converter development (concept to production)Define project scope, timelines, deliverables, and milestonesDevelop and maintain project schedules (Gantt charts, trackers)Monitor progress against design gates (e.g., concept, design, validation, industrialization)Technical CoordinationWork closely with hardware, firmware, mechanical, thermal, and PCB layout teamsEnsure alignment with design requirements, specifications, and standardsSupport technical decision-making through basic understanding of:Power converter topologies (Buck, Boost, Flyback, LLC, etc.)Thermal management (heat sinks, cooling strategies)EMI/EMC compliancePCB design constraints for power electronicsSupplier & Stakeholder ManagementCoordinate with vendors, design partners (e.g., PCB, CFD, magnetics, fabrication)Support RFQ, vendor selection, and onboarding processesTrack supplier deliverables, lead times, and risksManage communication with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Management)Risk Management & Issue ResolutionIdentify project risks proactively (technical, supply chain, resource-related)Develop and track mitigation plansHandle change management and deviations effectivelyEscalate critical issues in a structured and timely mannerCost & Resource ManagementTrack engineering hours, development cost, and BOM targetsSupport cost optimization through:Design reviews (DFM, DFA)Supplier alternativesValue engineering initiativesQuality & ComplianceEnsure adherence to quality processes (APQP, ISO standards, internal guidelines)Support design reviews, validation plans, and testing milestonesEnsure proper documentation and traceabilityDocumentation & ReportingMaintain:Project plansRisk registersMeeting minutesStatus reportsPrepare and present periodic project updatesincluding:MilestonesRisks & mitigationCost & resource statusSupport requiredRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical / Electronics / Power Electronics EngineeringPMP /Scrum master certification is a plus3–5 years of experiencein:Power electronics product development OREngineering project management in electronics domainRequired SkillsTechnical SkillsBasic understanding of:Power electronics converters (DC-DC, AC-DC)PCB development lifecycleThermal and EMI considerationsFamiliarity with tools (preferred):MS Project / Excel-based trackersMS VisioProject Management SkillsStrong planning, scheduling, and coordination capabilityExperience with structured methodologies (APQP, Stage-Gate preferred)Ability to manage multiple vendors and cross-functional teamsSoft SkillsExcellent communication and stakeholder managementStrong problem-solving and decision-makingAbility to work under tight timelines and dynamic environmentsHigh level of ownership and accountabilityPreferred ExperienceExperience in industrial, automotive, or railway power electronics applicationsExposure to:Industrialization activitiesSupply chain coordinationPrototype to production transitionKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)On-time milestone achievementCost adherence vs. planRisk closure effectivenessSupplier delivery performanceQuality of project documentation and reporting
