SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)

The team member MEP Mechanical (FPS/PHE) supports execution, coordination, and monitoring of Fire Protection Systems (FPS) and Plumbing & Public Health Engineering (PHE) works at project sites, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of assigned activities.


SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

Financial / Functional Perspective


  • Assist in controlling material wastage and optimizing resource utilization at site.
  • Support monitoring of quantities executed against BOQ.
  • Help in maintaining cost-effective execution of FPS and PHE works.
  • Assist in preparation of material requirement and consumption reports.
  • Support in minimizing rework through proper execution as per drawings.

Customer Perspective

  • Ensure FPS and PHE works meet client and consultant requirements.
  • Support in timely closure of observations raised by clients or consultants.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for smooth site execution.
  • Maintain professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support in achieving project milestones as per schedule.

Internal Process Perspective


  • Assist in execution and supervision of firefighting systems including hydrant, sprinkler, wet riser, and fire pump systems.
  • Assist in execution of plumbing systems including water supply, drainage, sewage, storm water, and rainwater harvesting systems.
  • Ensure works are carried out as per approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and other MEP teams to avoid service clashes.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and snag list closure activities.
  • Maintain daily progress reports and site records.
  • Assist in inspection of materials and workmanship quality.
  • Ensure compliance with safety norms and site safety practices.

  • Continuously improve technical knowledge of FPS and PHE systems.
  • Learn and follow company quality and safety standards.
  • Participate in site meetings and technical discussions for skill enhancement.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

  • 10–15 years of experience in MEP / FPS / PHE execution roles.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to utilize advanced knowledge of quantity estimation, construction sequencing and execution planning to develop Good for Construction drawings (GFC), incorporating all execution level detailing, specifications and shop drawings that align with project goals and regulatory requirements 
  • Ability to apply knowledge of architectural and engineering drawing standards with respect to Drawing Control Index (DCI) to read, analyze, and interpret various types of technical drawings, including blueprints, schematics, detailed drawings, GFC drawings and shop drawings to understand design specifications, dimensions, materials, and construction methods essential for successful engineering design, project planning and execution
  • Ability to apply the knowledge of water supply and distribution components (such as main lines, branch lines, service connections, pumping systems), and waste and vent piping systems, in order to engineer efficient water supply and drainage systems that ensure reliable delivery of potable water and effective management of wastewater and stormwater
  • Ability to apply the knowledge of hydraulic calculations to determine optimal pipe diameters and pressure drops, while leveraging established method statements to engineer various types of piping systems, including PVC, copper, and PEX, for effective fluid transport in engineering, construction and industrial applications
