Head – Project ManagementBU: L&T- EPS – Power Electronics & BESSLocation: BangaloreThe Head of Project Management is responsible for leading the organization's Project Management Office (PMO) and ensuring the successful delivery of projects. This role establishes project management standards, drives governance, optimizes resource utilization, manages multiple project portfolios, and ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the expected quality standards. The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic planning capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and implement the organization's project management strategy.Establish and continuously improve project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and best practices.Align project execution with business objectives and strategic priorities.Lead portfolio planning and prioritization.Project Portfolio ManagementOversee multiple programs and projects across business functions.Monitor project performance, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.Ensure projects achieve defined business outcomes and benefits.Team LeadershipBuild, mentor, and lead a high-performing project management team.Develop competency frameworks and training programs.Conduct performance reviews and succession planning.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Stakeholder ManagementPartner with executive leadership to define project priorities.Provide regular project portfolio updates to senior management.Manage relationships with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.Resolve escalated project issues and conflicts.Governance & ComplianceEstablish project governance standards and reporting mechanisms.Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.Conduct project audits and lessons-learned reviews.Drive continuous process improvement initiatives.Financial ManagementManage project budgets and forecasting.Optimize project resource utilization.Track financial performance and project ROI.Support business case development for strategic initiatives.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.20+ years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadershipRequired SkillsStrategic planning and portfolio managementPMO setup and governanceProgram and project managementBudget and financial managementRisk and issue managementLeadership and team developmentStakeholder and executive communicationChange managementVendor and contract managementStrong analytical and decision-making skillsNegotiation and conflict resolutionKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)On-time project delivery, Budget adherence, Customer satisfactionResource utilization, Portfolio health and governance complianceBenefits realization, Team engagement and retentionPreferred ExperienceExperience managing large, cross-functional transformation programs.Exposure to Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.Experience implementing PMO processes and project management tools.Strong understanding of digital transformation, process improvement, and organizational change management.Leadership CompetenciesStrategic thinkingResults orientationCustomer focusPeople leadershipCollaboration and influenceInnovation and continuous improvementAccountability and integrityPage Break
