Group Lead – Central InvertersRole PurposeProvide end-to-end engineering leadership for power electronics products and system architectures, driving innovation, product robustness, cost competitiveness, and scalable platforms across AC-DC, DC-DC, DC-AC, Solar Inverter (Central and String), PCS, EV Charger and Electrolyser Power Supply and other power conversion Products and systems.Key Responsibilities1. Product & System ArchitectureDefine product and system architecture for:Solar Inverters (String, Central)BESS PCS (Grid-following & Grid-forming)EV Chargers (AC & DC Fast)Electrolyser Power SuppliesEstablish platform-based designs to enable reuse across power levels and applications.Own system-level requirements: efficiency, power density, reliability, safety, grid compliance.2. Engineering Execution & Technical GovernanceLead multi-disciplinary engineering teams of Electrical and Mechanical, System control EngineeringDefine engineering standards, design guidelines, and review mechanisms.Own design reviews, technical risk management, and design trade-off decisions.Ensure DFMEA, PFMEA, and functional safety concepts are embedded early.3. Product Development & Lifecycle OwnershipOwn complete product lifecycle:Concept → Architecture → Prototype → Validation → Certification → Production → Field supportImplement V-Model / Stage-Gate / APQP product development processes.Drive design for manufacturability (DFM), cost (DFC), and serviceability (DFS).Lead cost-down, value engineering, and platform reuse initiatives.4. Compliance, Standards & CertificationEnsure compliance with:Grid Codes: IEC, IEEE, ULSafety: IEC 62109, UL 1741, IEC 61851EMC/EMI: IEC 61000 seriesFunctional Safety: IEC 61508 (where applicable)Interface with certification agencies (UL, TÜV, Intertek).Own system-level validation strategies and test coverage.5. Manufacturing, Quality & Field ReliabilityPartner with manufacturing for NPI, ramp-up, and yield improvement.Lead field failure analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.Drive reliability engineering and accelerated life testing.Enable localization and second-source strategies with supply chain.6. Business, Customer & Stakeholder EngagementAct as technical interface in customer interactions, RFQs, and pre-sales.Align product strategy with market needs, cost targets, and revenue goals.Mentor senior technical leaders and build long-term engineering capability.Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Operations, and Service teams.Key KPIsTime-to-market adherenceProduct efficiency, reliability & cost targetsCertification success rateField failure rate (PPM)Platform reuse and engineering productivityEducationBE / BTech in Electrical / Power ElectronicsMTech / PhD preferredExperience15-25+ years in power electronics product and system developmentProven leadership across high-power Solar inverter, PCS, Electrolyser and Ev Charger product in MW scale RangeExperience with global product deployment and certificationShould have handed team of 25-50 EngineeringShould be have experience of product/System Engineering and advanced development.Core Technical CompetenciesConverter and inverter system design (kW–MW)Grid-tied and standalone systemsSiC / IGBT device applicationControl algorithms & DSP/FPGA platformsThermal, EMC, and reliability engineering
