SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)

The Lead – Quality is responsible for implementing quality systems and ensuring compliance with standards across assigned projects. The role focuses on driving defect-free execution, conducting audits and inspections, and coordinating with project teams to improve overall construction quality.

SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

Financial / Functional perspective

  • Reduce cost of poor quality (rework and defects) 
  • Minimize defect liability and warranty costs 
  • Support project profitability through quality control 
  • Enable value engineering through quality benchmarking

Customer Perspective

  • Deliver defect-free and compliant projects 
  • Improve customer satisfaction and confidence 
  • Support external and statutory audits 
  • Ensure transparent quality reporting

Internal Process Perspective

  • Implement Quality Management System (QMS) at project level 
  • Conduct site audits, inspections and quality reviews 
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and codes 
  • Monitor NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions 
  • Coordinate with project teams for quality improvements 
  • Maintain quality documentation and MIS 
  • Drive standardization of quality practices across projects

  • Train site engineers and supervisors on quality practices

  • Experience in site inspections, audits, code compliance, and ensuring defect-free delivery in construction or real estate projects.

  • Ability to utilize knowledge of existing quality processes and workflows and optimization/ innovative techniques to enable the identification of bottlenecks and execution of targeted improvements, enhancing quality effectiveness and minimizing waste
  • Ability to leverage knowledge of established quality assurance plans, policies, procedures, method statements and industry specific quality standards (ISO 9001) to conduct, and manage comprehensive quality audits across the construction lifecycle (evaluating materials, processes, and documentation etc.) to identify non-conformity with industry standards, validate relevant regulatory requirements are met or not and enhance the outcome of quality process and product quality
  • Ability to understand established quality assurance plans, policies, procedures, method statements, industry-specific quality standards (ISO 9001, BIS codes, etc.), and regulatory requirements (building codes, safety norms, etc.) as well as comprehensive risks involved across projects to ensure effective implementation of quality management systems, ensuring compliance and overall improvement in construction project efficiency and quality
  • Ability to utilize knowledge of investigative techniques (such as Root Cause Analysis, Pareto analysis, 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, etc.) and apply understanding of quality control principles and process diagnostics to identify quality issues at site and systematically identify the root causes of defects, deviations, and inefficiencies, ensuring effective corrective actions and preventing future occurrences
