Responsibilities 

We are seeking a TCS BaNCS Functional Tester with strong payments domain knowledge and hands-on experience in functional testing across payment journeys, interfaces, messaging, reconciliation, and defect management. The role requires the ability to understand end-to-end payment processing, translate business requirements into robust test scenarios, execute functional and integration testing, and support releases through defect closure and business validation.

Key Responsibilities

Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and payment workflows within TCS BaNCS.

Prepare and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test scenarios.

Validate payment initiation, processing, status updates, exception handling, and reconciliation flows.

Test interfaces and message-based payment flows, including SWIFT and ISO 20022, where applicable.

Create and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test data, requirements traceability, and test evidence.

Log, analyse, prioritise, track, retest, and support closure of defects in coordination with business, development, and product teams.

Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), release-readiness activities, and production validation.

Provide clear test status reporting, highlight risks and dependencies, and support stakeholder discussions.

• Up to 6 years of functional testing experience in banking or payments

• Experience with reconciliation and exception management

• Strong understanding of payment processing and transaction lifecycles

• API, file-based, or message-based interface testing

• Hands-on exposure to TCS BaNCS Payments modules

• Experience with test management tools such as Jira, ALM, or Azure DevOps

• Experience in functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing

• Ability to create test scenarios, test cases, test data, and requirements traceability

• Defect logging, triage, retesting, and closure management

• Good analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills

• Knowledge of SWIFT messages and ISO 20022

• Exposure to domestic and cross-border payments

A functional testing professional with practical experience in banking or payments environments.

Able to understand business requirements and translate them into structured, traceable, and executable tests.

Comfortable collaborating with business, technology, product, and quality-assurance stakeholders.

Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of managing defects and test evidence through closure.
