Job Description & Summary: A career within…. 

Responsibilities: 

 

• With a centre on SAP BW and SAP BPC, the development and deployment of business Intelligence Solutions to support evolutionary business change criteria 
  Specify, design and build business / process enhancing BI solutions using preferred business reporting tools and data warehouses. Preferred tools / DBs being 
  SAP BW 
  SAP BPC 
  Oracle DB 

• Support established in-house developed BW / BPC solutions 

• Document existing BW / BPC solution to assist in migration to a range of reporting platforms. 

• Add value to existing business processes / procedures by upgrading productivity and effectiveness 

Competencies, qualifications & grasp 
On the job current experience of: 
Extensive hands on experience of specifying, designing and building process enhancing business intelligence solutions using SAP BW, SAP BPC and Oracle DB 

Competencies to include: 

• Using full features of the Data Transfer Process (DTP), Transformations, Data Store Objects (DSO). 

• Able to Model and create Info cubes, Info objects, Info sets and Multi Providers. 
  Capacity to write reports using BEx Query Designer and Analyser. 

• Robust technical problem solving 

• First-rate communication capabilities 

SAP BUSINESS PLANNING AND CONSOLIDATION: 

• Setting up environment, configuring models and dimension, empowering seamless integration of master data and hierarchies with underlying transaction systems 

• Configuring Transformation and conversion files, data manager packages, package links for extracting and undertaking task on data. 

• Setting up the initial ownership structure and defining the rate input templates 

• Drafting currency translation rules (both periodical & YTD), elimination and adjustment rules, US elimination rules,carry-forward rules, account-based calculations rules 

• Writing logic scripts, collaborating with ABAP team members on functional aspects for BADIs 

• Designing EPM reports and input templates from consolidation and planning needs. 

• Backup procedures 

• Creation of queries, info areas, aggregation levels, main figures, characteristics, composite providers, variables,reports and input templates using HANA Studio and BEX Query. 

Core responsibility areas 

• Team up with Business to analyse needs, design and produce BW / BPC based solutions. 

• Use tools to undertake Data Transfer Process, Transformations and BEx Query Designer and Analyser 

• Offer support for data migration projects as and when required 

• Understand the business data expectations and translate it into solution framework/ architecture 

• Run, plan, prioritise and work to tight deadlines 

• Guarantee effective communication with business and project stakeholders 

• Liaise the development of code elements and review. 

• Participate in all phases of project lifecycle Design, Development, System Testing, UAT support, Deployment Support, Post Production Support 

• Review and finalize the project scope and deliverables with Application Development and Functional Support manager. 

• Obtain acceptance for all deliverables from the business. 

• Ensure adherence to locally defined standards for all developed BW / BPC solutions 

• Offer technical leadership on the use of tools to execute Data Transfer Process and data profiling
